Abukakar Atiku has summed up the nation’s feeling – this most recent savagery against our youth is heartbreaking. More than the heart is broken however, more than millions of individual hearts that still lay claim to bonds in a common humanity. The already over-stretched sinews of moral restraint have been snapped off the casing of nation being, and nothing is left but the collective wails of impotence. Not for the first time, what many hoped was a Natural Law of Limitations has been contemptuously, defiantly breached. We need to remind ourselves of hideous precedents. We must remember Chibok. And Dapchi.…

We all salute your life of simplicity and kindness. A life of live-and-let-others-live, as a promoter of life more abundant for all. His Excellency, Isiaka Adeleke was an enigma who transited at God’s own appointment time, though we would have loved to have him with us for many more years. As stated in the scripture, “tell the righteous, it will be well with them, for they will enjoy the fruits of their deeds”. On April 23, 2017, the eagle flew home in a blaze of glory and the world literarily stood still. Four years after his glorious transition, Senator Isiaka…

Mr Obaseki, a former investment banker and former finance commissioner in Edo, described the move as “monetary rascality” and urged the…

Innocent C Chukwuma (Photo Credit: Facebook) Innocent led from behind without any compulsive interest in taking credit or seeking the limelight. He told me that the key to building partnerships and bringing people to work together is to be less interested in attribution or taking glory but rather to allow the people you work with stay in the light. To him, as long as the work got done, it didn’t matter who took the credit. In 2016 I lost my father and my daughter within six months. That experience normalised death for me and made me believe that death could…

We shall be perfect; one hundred percent perfect. The bible calls us to rejoice in hope. It says we should rejoice in hope of the glory of God.” (Romans 5:2). When we rejoice in hope, our joy is in the promise of God. Like Christ, it is a joy that enables us to overcome the world. We become like Christ who: “For the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” (Hebrews 12:2). “For we were saved in this hope, but hope that…
