How to Find Your Path in Life Using 6 Compasses

This article is the compass that will give you directions on how to find your path in life.

Life is a city with many habitats and destinations. Any man who desires to get to the right habitat and destination in life must have a clear understanding of the direction that will lead him there.

Failure to get the right direction means planning to walk in another man’s path.

Every man in life has a preordained path that God wants him to walk on.

There is a track God wants you to run on in life, and this track you must find. Otherwise, you will only become a wanderer in life.

You would live in this world with no bearing or distance if you refused to find your path in life.

The reason many live as fugitives today is because they have yet to find out God’s preordained path for them.

They go about doing everything that comes their way. They keep on jumping from pillar to post because they are yet to know what God wants them to do in life.

This makes them live in confusion. It makes them follow multitudes by doing what others are doing. This eventually makes one a photocopy of another.

If you don’t want to be the second-best of another man in life, you must know what God wants you to do.

If you don’t want to be a duplicate of another man’s destiny, you must be ready to find your path in life.

A man without knowledge and understanding of God’s intended plan for him will live life in parts.

Since this is the case, the question you might be asking is, “How can I find my path in life?”

Well, you don’t have to rack your brain over that because you have a compass with you.

Therefore, I enjoin you to peruse this article with an open mind. As you do so, you will begin to see the blueprints of God’s plan for you.

May you gain clarity and direction as you read this article in Jesus’ name, amen. Cheers to a successful reading!

How To Find Your Path In Life

Your path in life is the designated plan of God for you. It is the preordained and original plan God had outlined before He created you.

It is God’s own intention and reason behind your creation. However, this path will remain a mystery to you until you take certain steps to search it out.

Until you embark on a search adventure, you will never find your path in life.

This is because it takes searching to find it. If you cannot search, then forget about finding.

If this is the case, then how can you find your path in life?

To answer this question, I have shared six basic and proven strategies for discovering your preordained path in life.

These strategies are the compass you need to navigate your destiny. You can read them below.

1. START WITH GOD:

As men, we tend to always start everything pertaining to our lives from our side. We use our sensuality and human reasoning to arrive at a conclusion for ourselves.

We depend on our wisdom and rely so much on common sense.

Most times, we made decisions, forgetting that we came from a source that began the foundation of our lives.

The aftermath of this is that we often end up making the wrong choices.

Since you did not create yourself, you should never start the navigation of your path in life from your side.

If you do, you will only subject yourself to spiritual strongholds. This will encourage you to keep embarking on a trial-and error journey in life.

This is because you didn’t create yourself; God created you.

God is the source from which you came. He is the one who formed you in your mother’s womb.

So, he knows everything about you.

Jeremiah 1:5 says, “Before I formed thee in the belly, I knew thee; and before thou camest forth forth out of the womb, I sanctified thee.”

God knew you before your mother conceived you. This means that if you want to find your path in life, you must begin with Him.

Genesis 1:1 says, “In the beginning, God created heaven and earth.”

Even the creation of the world could not start until God stepped into the picture.

Similarly, you can’t find out God’s plan for you if you refuse to allow Him to step into the picture of your life.

If you try figuring it out yourself, you will continue to be a speculator, and speculation is not always accurate in this case.

Proverbs 3:5–6 says, “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”

Dear you, your path in life is a mystery to you but an open matter to God. You can’t search it out using your own wisdom.

You need God to reveal it to you. If you want to find your path in life, you must trust in God and allow Him to lead you.

Ergo, I am charging you to go to God in prayer and ask Him to open His divine door for you.

Jeremiah 33:3 says, “Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and she’s thee great and mighty things which thou knowest not.”  This is God’s word to you.

He is calling you to come to him. He said you should ask Him things you don’t know so He can reveal them to you.

You should therefore run to Him now to get His blueprints for your life.

2. SEARCH THE SCRIPTURES:

As a child of God, the Bible is a map that can help you find your path in life. It contains detailed and clear records of God’s plan for you.

This is why you need to search through it. If you don’t search through it, it is impossible for you to get a full grasp of God’s ordained plan for you.

The scriptures are the written scripts of God for your life. They reveal to you the role God wants you to act out on the stage of life.

They give you understanding of God’s will to lead you in the way that God wants you to go. This is why you should always search it.

Hebrews 10:9 says, “Then said he, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me) to do thy will, O God.” This was Christ speaking.

He also read the volume of books that was written about Him before He could understand what God had sent Him to do in life.

If Jesus can do this, why shouldn’t you do the same?

There is a volume of books written concerning you. That book is in the scriptures, and it contains the blueprint if God’s plan for you.

It contains the written record of what God intends for you to do in life. Do you really desire to find your path in life?

Then you must be willing to search through this book. As you do this, His will for your life will be clearly revealed.

3. DISCOVER YOUR TALENT:

Talent is simply a natural ability that makes you good at a particular activity. It is that one thing you can do naturally and seamlessly.

When you have a talent in something, it means you can do that thing without any prior training.

As child of God, you have a talent which God has deposited in you. The evidence of this is seen in the parable of the talents which Jesus told His disciples.

Matthew 25:14-15 says, “For the kingdom of heaven is as a man traveling into a far country who called his own servants and delivered unto them his goods. And into one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one: to every man according to his several ability.”

The same way the man in this parable gave his servants talent, God has given you too. He has given you his talent according to your ability and this talent can be a pointer to your destiny.

Your talent in one way or the other will reveal God’s plan for you.

That one thing you can do seamlessly can help you gain direction to your preordained destination in life. This is why you need to discover your talent.

Ask yourself this question:

  • What is that one thing I can do?
  • What do people commend me for?

Reflect on and ponder these questions. They will help you find your talent.

After discovering your talent, ask what God wants you to do with it (if you have more than one).

This is because for every talent God has deposited in you, there is a purpose attached to it.

If it is singing, there is a reason God has given you that talent. If it is writing, there is a purpose for it.

Whatever talent you discover, know that there is a reason God has given it to you.

Finding out the purpose of your talent is a good way to know His plans for you.

In conclusion, your talent is a signpost that can lead you into God’s preordained path for you. Hence, I am urging you to discover your talent today.

4. KNOW YOUR PASSION

Passion is simply the strong enthusiasm or keen interest you have for something. It is that one thing you are so zealous about.

Whenever you see or hear about it, there is always an ignition in you. You get easily drawn to it.

You get attracted to it every time and always find it difficult to take your heart off it.

Psalm 69:9 says, “For the zeal of thine house hath eaten me up.”

This is what passion is. It is that thing that eats you up—that one thing that consumes your love.

Your passion can help you find your path in life. Yes, that one thing you are enthusiastic about could be a clue to knowing what God wants you to do.

What are you passionate about? What do you get attracted to easily? Do you get attracted to children or teenagers?

Are you so zealous about reaching out to the youth? What do you feel so enthusiastic about?

I want you to answer these questions. Whatever your heart burns for are a pointer to what God wants you to do.

One of the things that helped Moses discover himself as Israel’s deliverer was his passion.

Whenever He sees the Israelites, he feels so enthusiastic about saving them. He feels hurt whenever he sees anyone hurting them.

Dear you, your passion is a compass. It is a map that can help you gain clarity in life.

If you see that you are passionate about something, did not hesitate to act upon it.

This is because the action you take will become a direction that will eventually lead you to your destination. I therefore ask you to find your passion today.

5. FIND YOUR PURPOSE

Purpose is the reason and meaning behind the existence of a man. It is the “why” behind man’s occupation on earth.

It is God’s original intention for your creation.

Every man in this world has a purpose. You have a purpose, and I have a purpose too.

This purpose defines why we are on this side of eternity.

To find your path in life, it is important for you to discover your purpose. There is a need for you to know why God created you if you want to understand His will for you.

This is because your purpose has a part to play in your destiny. There is a strong connection between your purpose and your destiny.

Jeremiah 1:4-5 says, “Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the wombe, I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.”

God revealed to Jeremiah why He has created him.

Although Jeremiah came from a priestly family, God made him to understand that he is not meant to be a priest, but a prophet unto nations.

So do you know your purpose in life? Do you know what God wants you to do here? Have you discovered the reason behind your existence?

If your answer is yes that means you are on the track, but if your answer is no, that means you have to find out what it is.

Ask yourself this question, “Why am I on earth?”

And ask God, “What will you have me do?”

There is a reason you are here and there is something God wants you to do here. That is what your purpose is.

Ergo, I want you to go to God in prayers ask Him to reveal your purpose to you.

He is the one that created you and He knows why He did.

That makes Him the only source from which you can find out what your purpose is. You should therefore trust Him to reveal it to you.

6. GET A VISION

Vision is simply the divine revelation of God’s plan for you.

It is what you see yourself doing with the eyes of your mind. It is the mental picture of your future.

In order to find your path in life, you need to have a vision. not just a vision, but a worthy one that would bring solutions to your generation.

This was how Joseph gained understanding of God’s plan for him. God revealed it to him in his bedroom dream.

Genesis 37:5-7 says, “And Joseph dreamed a dream, and he told it to his brethren, and they hated him the more. And he said unto them, Hear, I pray you, this dream which I have dreamed: for, behold, we were binding sheaves in the field, and lo, my sheaf arose, and also stood upright, and, behold, your sheaves stood round about, and made obeisance to my sheaf.”

This dream revealed that Joseph would become a great leader in the future.

Dreams and visions help in the search for one’s path in life. In fact, they are one of the surest ways to know what God wants you to do.

You should therefore allow God to impregnate you with worthy dreams and visions.
