Well, this topic over the past 5 years has taken a major twist when Gen Z saw this waste of time and effort but Millennials so much believed this a lot and it’s dawned on me, did it truly work for the Millennials and if it did, why the sudden disagreement by the Gen Z.

A Millennial is anyone born between 1980 and 1995 while that of Gen Z is anyone born between 1996 and 2012.

We have to understand that not all Gen Z follows or agrees to this ideology but the atmosphere wouldn’t even allow them to be confident about it.

The origin of making New Year’s resolutions started with the Babylonians, who reportedly made promises to the gods in hopes they’d earn good favor in the coming year.

It’s was more of a transaction type of deal, I behave good, and the gods in return give me favor in the coming year.

But does it work? if yes, to what extent?

According to Wikipedia, a new year resolution is a tradition in which a person resolves to continue good practices, change an undesired trait or behavior, accomplish a personal goal, or otherwise improve their life at the start of a new year.

It’s majorly a way to set a stopper to a certain way of life and use the new year to start new.

So the question remains, is it a myth or a fact?

You don’t expect me to just answer whether it’s a myth or a fact without actually giving analysis about it.

A new year is coming, it is necessary to plan your goals or aspiration for the year, this is very necessary irrespective of whatever trash people say. Plan your year and write down goals you want or wish to achieve.

This would give you a head start towards how you want your year to go.

A simple plan like I’d be a graduate by 2022, make tens of thousands in my business, learn a new skill, get into a relationship, get married.

These are just famous plans people make right, each person has different plans for the year.

Let’s talk about something now,

The problem a lot of people have is, we write down goals that are too extravagant to be achieved in a year, for example, imagine a year 1 student in 2020/21 set saying I want to be a graduate by 2022, how?

Except by dropping out though, but seriously that is a shocking plan that doesn’t end up getting achieved by the end of the year and we all came to a conclusion, the new year resolution is a scam?.

New year resolution is just like setting achievable plans for the year, not a plan of walking on the road and storming on some billion dollars by the roadside, emphasis on the word achievable.

To clarify something now, the new year resolution is not a deadline or an end mark to some type of attitude or a starting point for something, there is this scam we do to ourselves, by the beginning of next year I will stop smoking or I will start exercising, lies.

You won’t do anything because a new year is not like we are going to be moved from one planet to another, New year is just timing between a day and another.

You want to start something, start as soon as you can, don’t wait for a new year as a deadline to start whatever you want to start.

Another thing we need to discuss is going to be a lot controversial.

Pastors and prophecies.

“I prophesy, this new year is your year of divine Favor” From a pastor that truly heard from God, this statement is true. (apologies to readers that doesn’t believe in this part of the study)

Numerous factors won’t make this work for some people and I’d just about one.

A simple analysis to explain my point, someone told you that you will see money if you go out today, you on your own now decided to stay indoors throughout the day, you stayed inside and you keep complaining that you didn’t see any money. Who’s the fault? pastors or you.

As much as prophecies are coming, you’d still have a long way to go, you don’t just get the manifestation of prophecies by sitting down and looking besides, faith without works is dead.

Watch out for my write-up on the full analysis Prophecies.

The new year resolution is only making or setting up how the year is going to be but remember, the year might not and will not go as planned but if you fail to plan, you plan to fail.

The major idea you have for the coming year might not go as planned and business owners will be able to relate to this statement “your idea towards your current business isn’t actually how you pictured it” Same applies to every other aspect of life.

With these few analyses, is new year’s resolution a myth or fact?

I don’t think it’s black and white anyway, it works for people different. Personally, I don’t do “New Year’s resolution”. I just set goals for myself from time to time, that’s all.

Set goals and make it happen, that’s the major aim
